Welcome to the Sunflowers Chernobyl Appeal childrens' charity. We are a totally voluntary Irish organisation based in Co Galway and we are dedicated to helping the Chernobyl Children who live in a radiation contaminated land which was destroyed by the world’s worst nuclear disaster.
We desperately need your help to continue our projects in Belarus. You can help us by holding a fundraising event in your workplace, school or local community. Or you can help us right now by clicking on the Donate Button.
We are dedicated to improving the lives of neglected, abandoned and abused children and special needs orphans living in state run institutions.
Our charity is dedicated to helping the very weakest children in Belarussian society but we cannot do this alone. With your help we can make a real difference.

Following on from last year's most successful event, Caroline Kelly Dunne from our Dublin Outreach Group will once again be holding a 'Strictly Come Dancing' evening at Kettles Country House Hotel in Swords, Co Dublin on Saturday 26th April, which is the anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster. MC on the night will be Newstalk & TV3 contributor Andrew McCann, with guest judges Teena Gates of 98fm and Senator Darragh O'Brien scoring the points! We thank Caroline and all the dancers, and everyone involved for giving of their time and commitment to what promises to be a wonderful evening of music and dance. Doors open at 7pm.
A Special Appeal to Help Special Needs Orphans
We are appealing for your help to enable our volunteers to start badly needed humanitarian projects to help 260 special needs children at Bogushevsk orphanage who are the innocent victims of abandonment and neglect. Just now we are focusing our efforts on helping the most severely disabled children who are cot bound since birth and are totally dependent on 24 hour care. Click here to read the full story

Chernobyl Anniversary Concert
A very special thank you to The Midland Tenors & Sopranos, under the direction of Walter Hein who gave a very special performance recently in St. Catherine's Church Aughrim. It was a most wonderful evening of music and songs and helped to raise much needed funds. We also thank Valerie Seale and her staff at Valerie's of Aughrim for the refreshments and entertainment after the concert.
